It is ART that makes life, makes interest, makes importance,
and I know of no substitute for the FORCE and BEAUTY of its process.

Fruit born of the earning years gives me time for living and the energy to enjoy it. Travel and art have inspired a new perspective on life, in unexpected ways.

Freedom from the time clock provides the peace needed to explore inwardly and to experience the world more fully. Wanderlust has always been a part of who I am; it takes me to beautiful and interesting places, both here in the USA and abroad.

From childhood my thoughts formed themselves into strong mental images. The images may be as simple as pleasing color combinations, interesting shapes or my interpretation of the physical world. A camera captures an image of a moment; but how do you capture an image from your mind? Painting enables me to transfer thoughts, to canvas. When I use color and texture to represent my view of the world, or to capture abstract feelings, my vision and energy is spread across the canvas.

The experts say an artist should have a recognizable style; frankly, I’m too young and experimental to settle down. A taste for eclecticism is reflected in my work. Using traditional and modern materials, in experimental ways, intrigues me.

My paintings are in; oil, acrylic or watercolor. It’s hard to believe that Autumn Falls, Scottish Castle, Eyes and Mr. Finch were all rendered by the same artist. I prefer to paint as the spirit moves me and each day is a new day.

As Past President of the Wy’east Artisans Guild and an artist for the Sandy Actors Theatre, I am actively working within the community to foster an appreciation for arts, crafts and culture.
